A taste of Jamaica in Britain. I am always so sceptical about eating Caribbean food at restaurants I am unsure of. Well on this faithful day, Cottons Rhum Shack changed my whole perception. In the vibrant area of Shoreditch where the people don’t rest, you have this wonderful restaurant to die for.
I ordered the Mixed Meat Platter which was mouth watering. It comes with – Chicken pieces, Chicken Wing, Jerk Pork Rib and a Lamb Chop, Served with Rice N Peas, Jerk Sauce and Plantain. It was a complete flavour bomb- spicy, sweet and smoked. Although it may sound like a whole lot of food, it was just right, not too little and not too small. Cottons also do their signature platters for either one or two people so it just depends on how hungry you are and if you are up for sharing. I hear the Jerk Salmon is also a good option and well worth trying. I sure will be trying this on my return.
The food is so fresh, authentic and flavoursome, and most importantly priced at an excellent value for money.
This is the perfect place for lunch, dinner and cocktails. it is most definitely a great place to visit with friends or even work colleagues and share some plates. It does get quite busy in the evenings, but it just goes to show how amazing they are.
